As we sat in our seats, I started to talk and talk about all the things I loved about White Christmas. I was shocked with Big D when he admitted that he had never even seen the movie. I wondered where he had been when Kallene and I watched it every Christmas at home. I quickly put aside my shocked face and got down to business telling him more about the music and dancing.
The show started. It was fabulous. I found myself wanting to lean over and giggle and comment about every little detail to Big D. The problem was, Big D did not appreciate my commentary. To the other side of us sat 4 girls (around 18 years old). I overheard them talking about the choreography, the costumes, the singing and how the stage production differed from the movie. I so desperately wanted to lean in and join in on their conversation. I realized that what I needed that night was my White Christmas Sister KALLENE!
Kallene was currently serving in the Hawaii Honolulu Mission (as far from snow as possible). But I needed her in that audience with me so we could comment about the background dancers, the Sister song done by the guys, and the amazing costumes and much more. I realized this is why you have a sister!
As the magical fake snow fell on the audience during the last song, I was happy to be there, but determined to see it again with my sister.
I decided that I wanted to start a White Christmas Sisters Blog with her. This way, no matter where we live, we can still giggle and comment about life, dancing, music and more.
So here it goes! Enjoy!
Just remember ...
"Sisters!Never had to have a chaperon "No, sir."
There were never such devoted sisters.I'm there to keep my eye on her.
Every little thing that we are wearing.
When a certain gentleman arrived from Rome,
She wore the dress and I stayed home.
All kinds of weather,
We stick together
The same in the rain or sun.
Two diff'rent faces
But in tight places
We think and we act as one.
Know that not a thing could come between us.
Many men have tried to split us up but no one can!
Lord help the mister,
Who comes between me and my sister.
And Lord help the sister,
Who comes between me and my man!"
