Joining the Baby Trend: Baby in a Mug

On the Today Show website, I saw an article about a new baby trend of taking pictures of babies in mugs.  Article Here

We jumped in and joined the "movement."

The older boys thought it was hilarious and wanted to join in on the fun.

Have a great weekend! And take a mug picture of your baby to brighten the day.

Better Full Than Empty

Life with three little ones has been extremely busy, overwhelming and fun.

Out of pure necessity, I have ventured out with all three to a few stores and other places.  I have seriously had a handful of people watch us walking down an aisle with my boys hanging off of the cart, and say "Wow! You've got your hands full."  Now some people say it with a smile, like it is entertaining and sweet to them. Others have said it with a tone, that is not so endearing.  More like I am crazy.  Which at that point my boys are knocking things down left and right or running away, so I do feel crazy.

I was relating this to Sally, who then said, "Do you know what your response should be when some says 'You've got your hands full,'? Better full than empty!"

And that is true.  I am so grateful to have my hands full right now.  As long as there is not any sassiness in my voice (which does happen every now and then), I will be answering to people at the store:

"Better full than empty!"

Thanks to my sister-in-law Alene for the matching ties.  She sells them at her etsy store. Check it out!

This picture was taken at 7:43pm last night.

Yesterday, T Bear surprised us and asked us to take his training wheels off.  His neighbor friend has just learned how to ride his bike without training wheels and had inspired T Bear to do the same.

Hesitantly I took them off and started him.  I remember our Dad running up and down the street with us while holding onto the back of our seat.  I was so nervous for Dad to let go of me, so I thought T Bear would be the same.  He was not.  He took off and rode effortlessly.

Later that night after a bath, we were getting ready for a quick family night.  Aunt Lorraine called and T Bear wanted to show her how he could ride his bike.  Out we went, in their pjs to show off his new skill.

An older gentleman walked with his dog and said, "So this is the new look for riding gear nowadays."  He was referring to their pjs.  :)

Then when another family strolled by and said hello, I called out "They did get dressed at one point today!"

But let's be honest, I think we have all had days were we did not get dressed for the day.  So who cares if what people were thinking about my boys riding bikes in their pjs last night.

I am so proud of my T Bear and his ability to keep surprising us with new skills and talents.

A Hole in the Fence

Dear KK,

Well, it has been almost 3 weeks since we moved to the Portland area.  Our rental home is quite nice (minus the white carpet - who puts in white carpet? CRAZIES).  What I love about the house is that it is on a dead end street, close to the elementary school, and has a fenced in backyard.

On the third day we were here, it was nice and sunny outside.  I decided to take the boys out for a walk to explore the neighborhood.  Anyone we passed got a huge "HI! shouted at them by either T Bear or Cub or both.  They were on a mission to find friends.  Our walk only led us to see some older neighbors with dogs, but as we returned to the house the boys said hello to a young boy and girl whose mother was trying to usher them into the car.

Later that day I found T Bear in the backyard talking to the same young boy.  Soon they were throwing balls and other objects over the fence at each other.

The next day, T Bear really wanted to play with his new friend.  We walked around to the front of their house and formally introduced ourselves.  The new friend came with us to our backyard to play.  By the end of the day, the nice mom had shown me a lose board in the fence.  I got a hammer out and we knocked off another plank and had a hole in the fence.

This hole in the fence has been the best thing about our move.  Now our boys have friends readily available.  And I can sit inside while feeding Little Grizzly and watch the boys play happily outside with their friends.

For how much I miss Seattle, I am reminded in my heart that God is watching over us and we will fall in love with this new place too.

Wise Old Owl

Little Grizzly is now 3 months old.

Our neighbor told me that early one morning she had impression about him.  She thought that he has wisdom.  "Little Grizzly is full of wisdom," she told me.

Within another week I had at least 2 other people tell me that he looks so wise.

I am not sure if I see that, but I like it.  Then our sweet neighbor brought over new kites for the boys.  She gave an owl kite specifically for Little Grizzly.
